Atlantis 4 Trousers
I have used textile clothes for years – in fact since I bought my first Aerostich Roadcrafter suit some 16 years ago (which I still use from time time) but I was taken by the notion of waterproof leathers and when BMW announced the latest in their Atlantis gear, I took the plunge and bought a pair of trousers.

is from some sales blurb. But as it suggests the trousers are soft feeling and very comfortable.
Most importantly, they have performed for me as advertised and even in tremendous downpours they have kept me completely dry.
I used them in Ireland where I wore them a whole week which involved trudging through the mud on a very swampy campsite. The trousers cleaned up pretty well simply by sponging off with water. I didn’t want to use a detergent or even soap on them so as to reduce the chances of spoiling their waterproofness although the instructions that came with the garment does say you can wash them a few times before they will need any re-proofing.
The knee armour can be located in two positions and I found that I need to have it in the lowest position to avoid it riding up when I am on the bike. The trousers are wide enough to go over my Daytona boots without difficulty although I think it unlikely they would easily fit over my motocross boots – not that I am likely to wear them together.
The trousers look quite respectable off the bike too and I can walk into a pub with them without feeling like some hairy-assed biker. I have no reservations at all about them and I give them 10/10 marks.
